Wolfgang Seibold joined Earlybird as an Associate in 2001 and was promoted to Partner in 2006.

Since then, Wolfgang led the investments in several portfolio companies and has been an observing board member on some of Earlybird's portfolio companies including Asyntis GmbH (Munich) and Esmertec AG (Swiss Exchange: ESMN). He also drove Earlybird's investment strategy in areas as semiconductors, materials and clean technologies. He was a board member of OOVM A/S in Denmark. Wolfgang is currently a board member of Light Blue Optics Ltd. (Cambridge, UK) and Clean Mobile AG (Unterhaching, nr Munich).

Prior to Earlybird, Wolfgang worked as a management consultant for The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Frankfurt and Stuttgart, where he focused on strategic management of IT and High-Tech for various industries and for several years, he was a member of BCG's Worldwide IT-Practice Group. Before that, he worked at Alcatel/SEL in communications engineering.

Wolfgang studied physics and mathematics at the Universities of Ulm and Newcastle upon Tyne, from where he graduated with a Dipl. Phys. (MSc equivalent) in semiconductor physics. He also has an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France.
