Former CEO and co-founder of amaxa
“In amaxa’s early days, Earlybird encouraged us to develop a consistent business plan. As our investor from day one, they actively coached us over the years and helped us to successfully implement our plans. This was especially key in our decision to enter the US market at an early stage. If we hadn’t made that decision, we wouldn’t have been that successful.”
With amaxa, Rainer Christine managed to leave his laboratory in Cologne and take on the US – the main market for biotechnology products. For a whole decade, he worked seven days a week at the start-up, until he finally sold it successfully to the Swiss pharmaceutical firm, Lonza. He then took a well-deserved extended holiday in New Zealand.
